Saint Jean Industries joins the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative to promote sustainability in the industry

Our company, Saint Jean Industries, a major player in the aluminium manufacturing sector, recently announced its membership of the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI). This decision marks a significant commitment by the company to sustainable and responsible practices in aluminium production and continues Saint Jean Industries’ plan to become an “eco-responsible” company by 2039.

The ASI is a global multi-stakeholder initiative that aims to promote environmental, social, and economic sustainability throughout the aluminium value chain. By becoming a member of the ASI, Saint Jean Industries commits to respecting and promoting the standards and best practices established by the initiative, thereby reinforcing its position as a socially responsible and environmentally responsible company.

One of ASI’s key priorities is to ensure that aluminium is produced in a responsible manner, minimizing environmental impacts throughout the production process. This includes reducing greenhouse gas emissions, conserving water, and energy, and managing waste responsibly. By adhering to these standards, Saint Jean Industries is helping to reduce its environmental footprint and preserve natural resources for future generations.

Saint Jean Industries is now a member of the ASI, a first step, but would like to be certified on its performance in the coming months. Saint Jean Industries is currently taking all the necessary steps to obtain ASI certification as quickly as possible. Our Vice President Business Development & Advanced Engineering, Hervé Véricel, had the following to say about this membership and the potential certification of Saint Jean Industries soon:

“Saint Jean Industries wants to participate in a cleaner world, using less resources, less energy and less time. To demonstrate this involvement and to help us to reach this target, Saint Jean Industries wants to join ASI and start the process to achieve the Performance Standard Certification for our headquarter in Belleville, France first before deploying this certification all around the world.”

Finally, by working in collaboration with other ASI members, the company is helping to shape a more responsible and environmentally friendly sector, while strengthening its own competitiveness in the global marketplace.
