the activity of my department
Calculation engineer, Design office
In the design office, the calculation department, of which I am a member, is responsible for mechanical simulations of Saint Jean Industries parts before production is launched.
These calculations allow us to optimize the design of the part:
By identifying the critical areas where reinforcement is necessary.
By identifying the areas of low stress where a weight gain is possible.
Our objective is to achieve a part that is weight-optimized while respecting the customer’s mechanical specifications.
My daily role
I take part in new developments as well as in preliminary projects, in collaboration with the other entities of the department, including the product and process simulation divisions. I also contribute to the continuous improvement of the calculation department and I’m constantly looking for ways to improve.
my sources of motivation
What motivates me most of all is the fact that I can work in the automotive industry, which I am passionate about, to be in direct contact with customers during the progress of projects, to do a job that I like and that corresponds to my training as a structural and materials engineer.
