Line Operator
I work in the forging department, on a fully automated line dedicated to COBAPRESS™ parts.
We take the cast parts from the foundry and place them in a furnace to heat them before stamping them into the desired shape. Then, they are engraved and inspected to ensure they are free from defects.
This process, called hot forging, is the second step of the COBAPRESS™ process.
My day-to-day role
My role is to inspect the parts to ensure they are free from defects.
When I detect a defect, I can intervene to correct it depending on its type.
If the issue is too significant, I call on the quality department and the setter for appropriate handling.
Since we manufacture safety-critical parts for the automotive market, vigilance is essential. No defective part can be delivered, as it could put the driver and passengers at risk.
