RENEWABLE ENERGY PROJECTS

For several years now, Saint Jean Industries has been very involved in decarbonation and in the fact of wanting to protect our planet from CO2 emissions as much as possible to slow down global warming. We have thought about different solutions to consume less and to become an eco-responsible company.

SAINT JEAN INDUSTRIES CHANGSHU

Saint Jean Industries Changshu is the first Saint Jean Industries site to make the transition to an eco-responsible company, starting in 2039.

The solution to reduce Saint Jean Industries’ carbon footprint as much as possible was to install photovoltaic panels on the entire roof of the factory, located in the Changshu industrial zone, an hour and a half from Shanghai.
This rooftop solution provides a total power output of 1.3 Gwh per year, enabling SJI to save over 500 tons of CO2 per year.

This first project at our Chinese site was completed at the end of 2022.

2039 : SAINT JEAN INDUSTRIES' OBJECTIVE

Our objective is very clear: to enable Saint Jean Industries to be neutral from 2039 in terms of CO2 emissions.

SAINT JEAN INDUSTRIES VALLADOLID

A second project involving the installation of photovoltaic panels on our sites was launched in 2023 for our Spanish site near Valladolid.

The entire factory roof has been fitted with solar panels, but the company has also decided to equip the company parking lot with “solar carpots”. These are structures that combine solar panels with parking shelters. In simple terms, it’s like a covered parking lot with solar panels on the roof.

THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING

Saint Jean Industries is planning further decarbonization projects at its various sites, notably at the company’s head office in Belleville-en-Beaujolais, near Lyon, and also at its German site near Stuttgart.

In the future, the company’s vision is to equip all its sites with photovoltaic panels, as decarbonization has been one of Saint Jean Industries’ main concerns in recent years.
